Default Roper Dryer REX5634RQ0

Dryer less than 8 months old, complaint was too long to dry and timer not advancing. Found problem with vent for too long dry time. Went to timer to see if loose wire or other, found 248v going to timer advance motor, says 115v. Ohmed and ground tested all components, all good. Nothing was grounded out on cabinet. Checked points in timer none burnt or discolored. If timer is set and door closed no power to timer, must hit start button. Checked customers power also good. According to customer all problems happened at once. Have you got any ideas?

I haven't run across this issue myself, but maybe another tech. or member here has and can shed some light on what seems to be going on here.

Did your service this under warranty?

Jake

Hi Jake!
Up date on the roper dryer timer. Yes, I did service this unit under warranty, I looked at all the other timer motors and they were 230v, so I ordered a new timer and submitted warranty claim, and Whirlpool wants old timer sent to them. I guess maybe wrong part installed on assembly line. I just wonder why it worked for 8 months or maybe customer never noticed.

Anyway THANK YOU, AGAIN.

Glad the new timer fixed it.

Here is a new timer for this model, in case others need to order it as well(click photo for pricing/ordering information):
