My dryer has stopped running. It was running for one load and I puloled that load out and then it wouldn't run. We pulled the back a loose and cleaned it free of debris. We lifted it up to check the belt. Still in tack. What could it be? We checked the button that is between the door and connected to the dryer ( starts load. Could that little square element need to be replaced?I also thought about the button that you push on top to get it started, but I hear the clicking sound. The gas line was ( before we took aloose) connected properly. What do you think it is? Help, some great tech.

Hi,

**87980100**

I got model# 110.87980100 to work for me.

**My dryer has stopped running. It was running for one load and I pulled that load out and then it wouldn't run**

Question...dead now with no sounds?

A copy:

Q- My dryer is dead, what could do that?

A - Common problems...blown house fuse ( try a lamp or radio in the dryer outlet ), broken belt ( on some models only )...door switch/door switch bracket...thermal fuse open ( venting needs attention )...broken or burnt wire...timer...motor...burnt power cord/plug...start switch ( especially the ones with a built in relay switch )

**The gas line was ( before we took aloose) connected properly**

Gas line won't stop the dryer from running.

**Could that little square element need to be replaced?**

What ?square element?...where is this located?

jeff.

the door switch. its located inside the door to the left. I do hear aclicking sound. I'm leaning towards a thermal fuse? What do you think? No sound or noise except the clicking when you push the button to get it started. Plug is fine, the washer runs.the circuit breaker is fine. I hope that its soimething simple because i need the dryer for the kids clothes. What's a relay switch? This dryer is not really all that new. It has something that lets you know when the clothes are dry.

**I'm leaning towards a thermal fuse? What do you think?**

Gas dryer - usually the thermal fuse just stops the heat from working on a gas style dryer, on an electric dryer the thermal fuse usualy stops everything from working....but it is worth having a peek at, just join the 2 wires together to bypass the thermal fuse as a test.

Thermal fuse

**What's a relay switch?**

I checked...by your model# yours doesn't show to have one. -Some- push to start switches have a built in relay...yours doesn't.
