Hi folks,

I've done a lot of searching around this and I've tried to narrow this down as much as I can. I'm getting the "PF" error code at the same spot in every cycle (about 3 minutes in). When I initiate the water/service test, it fails at the step 5 wash/heat cycle (which seems strange, as the step 3 wash/heat appears to be exactly the same). Because it's the same spot, I don't suspect a door switch. The unit is about 6 years old. Over the last couple of weeks, we saw the code intermittently and would usually take with another try. Now, no dice.

Things I've tried:
- DVM to verify voltage (118) at the source circuit
- verified the heating element has excellent continuity and unplugged/replugged the spade connectors
- replaced the circuit breaker at the panel
- ran a temporary extension cord to another outlet/circuit in the house
- replaced the control board

What else can I check? We have two very young kids (almost 3yo and a 7 month old), so we are running the dishwasher daily to keep up with bottles and cups. If I can't get this resolved this week, we're going to buy another one this weekend while the Memorial Day sales are running.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. The help I've seen in some other threads here is truly outstanding.

Chris

Hello,
I have a Maytag side by side that is cold on the freezer side but warm on the fridge side. You can see in the first picture that that an area on the bottom inside of the freezer is icing up. I emptied the fridge last week and unplugged overnight to defrost. It worked fine for a few days and now it iced back up again. Not sure if that is the problem or not. I was hoping that this might be common and that someone might be able to tell me a part to order so that I could replace. Money is tight right now and I was trying to avoid a service call to diagnose and then repair.
Thanks for all of your help.<img src="http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/attachments/maytag-magic-chef-admiral-jenn-air/10658d1369225559t-maytag-side-side-freezer-cold-fridge-warm-pictures-included-fridge1.jpg" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.

I did a few searches on this forum and it has been helpful but I’m still unable to figure out what is wrong with my fridge. I don’t have the model/serial number but will get it and post it on here when I head home for lunchbreak today. the freezer is blowing ice cold but the refrig is currently around 50*F. A brief description of my fridge:
Side-by-side design
The defrost timer is located in front and below the fridge behind the panel/cover. It was recently replaced
The fan located in the top of the freezer is blowing fast and cold and there are no obstructions in the duct that goes from the freezer to the refrig side as well as the hole down in the bottom.
The freezer dial was just set to nearly full cold and the dial on the refrig side is from 1-9 and is at the max of 9
I tested the open/close freezer to see if theres any changes in the top freezer/refrig vent but there’s really no difference in circulation

Later today I’ll check the coils if need be if there is either ice or frost, but until then any suggestions?

Thank you,

Hello!

Yesterday, when i checked on the status of my clothes, i noticed that the dryer still had time left to finish. I tried to started back up thinking my wife opened the door and forgot to restarted, however, to my surprise, the drier did not start. After several attempts, still nothing.

I did a little research and found that apparently the thermal fuse went bad. In that regard, i was wondering if your expertise agree on this.

The other thing i noticed was that when i opened the dryer to inspect the possible thermal issue, there were a few wire connections that were not present based on videos and images that i saw. Could i ask any of you to look at the attached image and verify if in fact the dryer is missing connections or not and if so, what would be the best option for me to fix those missing connections or any other issues you can see from the image?

I've got a laundry center which is behaving as if there is no power to both the washer and dryer. The light inside the dryer isn't even coming on.

Of course, I've checked and cycled the breaker. I've also verified that there is the correct amount of power at the outlet with a multimeter.

I've browed other threads before posting, but (as far as I can see) none have dealt with a Laundry centre like mine where BOTH are not functioning at all. Thermal fuse seems to be a possible cause for these symptoms with a stand-alone dryer, but I'm not sure if that would cause power to cut for the washer as well for a unit like mine?

Hi,
Today I turned my oven on and I heard the usual click, click, click and poof the gas lit. Went back to the oven later and it was still preheating. Well I changed the temp higher and nothing changed.
Turned it off and started over with the door open and the cover off the bottom of the stove. It clicked again the flame lit and stayed on for 5 seconds and went off. It did this in both the bake and convect mode. Any idea where I should start. I do not have any diagrams for my stove.

At the end of rinse spin, the machine pulsates out suds that overflow the washer drain stack. The water from the wash & rinse cycles drains fine. The drain line from the washing machine clean-out has been snaked 2x, the trap inspected and is clear. The wash drain stack has been raised in hopes to accommodate the foam. It seems that the suds / foam are too light to move the water through the trap. The picture shows: the suds overflowing at the end of the rinse spin, the original washer drain stack box inlet, the extended inlet, and fancy plastic taped around to channel the foam into a bucket on the floor.<img src="http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/attachments/amana/10645d1369143755t-suds-overflow-washer-drain-stack-end-rinse-washer-suds.jpg" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.

This side by side Amana came with my house. The water dispenser stopped working years ago but the ice maker still worked. I've had two 3 repair people with 3 diagnostics and just left it broken. Recently my ice started melting. I have replaced the evaporator fan with a new one. It worked for a week, then I changed the thermostat, with a non oem because I wanted it now and it was all I could find. I turned on my ice maker and I no longer get ice. I am about to buy a new filter today and I don't have the bypass. Should I buy a bypass too or first?
If I remove my filter and dump out the water , my dispenser works for a couple of hours, so I don't think it is frozen anywhere. It will then stop working, but I can make it work by dumping out the water. Water will also flow into the ice maker but so does a lot of air ,so it doesn't fill the tray in the 7 second fill time. When it does flow it flows fast. When I remove the water filter, it seems to have pressure in it and spays water a little when I remove it. It hums when I press the dispenser, the lines don't appear to be frozen. If I unscrew the filter (OEM fresh and clear), relieve the pressure and put it back, water flows again. So I'm guessing it can only be filter, the filter housing , value, or water pressure. Any suggestions?

My customer has a G.E. side x side in which the fresh-food compartment is too cold (~24 degrees) even though the temperature setting is around 42 degrees. RepairClinic.com says the problem could be the thermistor or one of three dampers or the main control board, and I can see how that could be.

My customer bought the thermistor and the dampers, but when I went to install the thermistor, I found three thermistors and none looked like the one the customer had. Also, I couldn't find the location of the control board or how to replace the dampers.

Do you know where I can get a service manual for this model or where there's an online video that shows how to replace parts on the unit?

Friedrich KM24L30 trips the breakers (2) after running 30 minutes or so. I have to wait a few minutes to reset the breakers as unit will not start up right away. Changed both breakers but that didn't make a difference. I suspect it's the compressor and if so not a do it your-self repair or worth having it professionally repaired. Let me know what you think. Thanks
