Default Ice Dispenser Problem Model FRS26H5ASBS

Looking for any information regarding a problem this particular frig had with the ice maker. Apparently, a diode sensor that was linked to the wire harness went bad and caused ice to dispense randomly. I'd like to find a memo that was sent out by Frigidaire about 2 1/2 years ago to all their authorized service and sales centers that detailed this problem. There was never a recall. I would also like to find the part number for the diode sensor.

I have changed a couple of these so far this year, I even had to call our Frigidaire tech. line to get the part numbers.

All i can advise you to do is call:

Frigidaire 1-800-668-4606 Canada

I called them first, but they were no help. Do you know the part # for the diode senser? Do you have the service bulletin that Frig issued?

I don't have a service letter, sorry.

Default Diode

I found some additional info. The problem is actually with the ice maker. Apparently, when the ice maker cycles and water starts filling it up, the water also runs through the water dispenser causing a flood of water to run out of the freezer door and onto the floor. Tech says the water valve diode is shorted. Do you have any kind of service bulletin on this?

I have no bulletin, but have seen this occur....your model# ( Frs26h5as ) is too short.....but I found this kit...

Diode repair kit, water valve wire harness Part# 5304418384

I checked that full model# you listed, it does not even show a diode assembly, unless i missed it somewhere.

That kit Jeff1 posted should do it though.

You can click on Jeff1's link and before your order it just ask repairclinic.com to make sure that one matches your model#.

Most of the parts breakdowns don't show them....but they are on the wire diagram for that model....
