Angry Water leaking from Puresource 2 filter

6 months ago we moved into a new (for us) house that has a Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator (model #FRS26HF5A) with the newer-style Puresource 2 filter.

We get about 3 months out of a new filter before water starts to pour out from the filter itself when you get water from the door. It also happens when the water runs to fill the ice machine I think.

I've searched the web as well as these forums and haven't yet found a solution that satisfies me.

Frigidaire told me that the water pressure in our house may be too high. I don't believe that to be the case.

Others on-line have said that an O-right needs to be replaced but I think they're referring to the original PureSource filters where the O-ring is part o the housing that the filter connects to. With the Puresource2 the O-rings are part of the filter itself.

Anyone have the definitive answer to why the Puresource2 filter may be leaking?

I'm tired of replacing them every 3 months and may opt for a new fridge.

And whatever we buy it WON'T have a PurceSource2 filter!

Thats odd, don't think I've run across one that went every 3 months and started to leak like that.

I know I've changed several filter housings with the O-rings on these models with the Puresource2 for leaking and its fixed the problem, but nothing like your describing now.

Hopefully someone else who has had this problem and fixed it can post what the answer.

Jake

Did you ever resolve this? We have a new Fridge with PureSource2...same problem but replacing the filter does not help.
