Default Ultra Quiet...fills & drains but nothing else

I have n Ultra Quiet dishwasher. It fills & drains but nothing else. It is about 2 1/2 years old. If motor is messed up, can it be taken off and taken apart and fixed?

If contact in timer is bad, can timer be taken apart and cleaned?

THANKS

Hi,

Motors, no. Timers, some can and some can't. You're in the right direction, start with the timer.

Default Now What???

I took the timer out and was able to open it up. Some of the contact points on the metal prongs (metal pieces that go into the electrical connector) had black buildup on them much like the metal under a car's distributor cap. I scraped that stuff off and was feeling pretty sure that was all it was. BUT NO, the motor still doesnt even make a humming noise. All other functions work. All the wires look to be in good shape and I unplugged and plugged the connector on the motor to be sure it was seated well.

Is the motor bad???

Some dishwashers have fuses in them. I've taken alot of timers apart and cleaned the points but alot of the time I also have to bend them back so they will make contact. Rotate the cam and see if they are all making contact when they're suppose to. I think I can give you better advise if you give me the brand and model number.

It's hard to tell if contact is made when turning the cam due to the white plastic separater.

The dishwasher is Frigidaire model FDB126RBS2. The timer is model M520. When you bend them, do you bend towards the cam?

Thanks!

Take the points out, then with your hand push all down gently. Look at the top row of points and see if they are all even. Did you check the door switch? It's more common for that to go out before the timer.

If the door switch was bad, wouldnt it keep it from working at all?

No problem. I took the points out and made sure all were level. Still no motor.

What comes first, black stuff on the points or a failed motor?
