Default Dryer does not shut off automatically

Frigidaire Model GLET1041AS1

My dryer will not shut off automatically with either the Auto or Timed knob. The knobs actually never move. I can still dry my clothes by turning it on and then manually move the knob to Off when I'm finished. I just wanted to make sure which part I need to fix or replace.

Thanks!

Jake,

Thanks for your response. It is a washer/dryer combo, so I believe that is the correct model number?

Your right, sorry about that.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
GLET1041AS1
Diagram#1 Part location#1 is your dryer timer, thats likely bad.

This link will show you how to access your timer in your console:

Today, I got around to installing the dryer timer you suggested and I accidently sliced through one of the wires. This wire did not come with the timer.

If you look at the third timer picture, it is the wire that connects from the R to the T/M side. It has two insulated ends, and the inside has feathers and a very very small copper wire. You can barely see the copper wire because it is so small.

Please help me find this part number...thanks!

The R means resister.

This is the resister assembly for your model:

Jake, can I just use a 14 gauge copper wire and connect it to the ends instead of ordering this resistor wire?

I don't know, I've never tried it myself.
