Default Dryer sparked & now doesn't come on.

We replaced the glide on a Frigidaire FSE737GES1. Ball that sticks out back was grinding so we lubricated it. It helped for a couple loads and started again. We then tried lithium grease to lubricate. Then the dryer would turn on automatically without the start switch. Then after a couple times it sparked and won't turn on at all. What could be the problem?

I can't seem to find that model number. Could you re-check it for me. Where were the sparks? If it's electric, check the circuit breaker.

I'm sorry, model number is FSE747GES1

Sparks came out underneath lid on top of dryer. Checked circuit breaker and turned it back on. The heating element comes on when turn on dial.

Sounds like the heating element is shorted to ground. Thats probably where the sparks came from. You can check it with a meter by going from the heating element to ground and see if you get a reading. Or you can take it apart and look. I would think with the sparks it will be obvious.

Could the sparks have shorted out/ruined the starter switch?

Possibly but I doubt it. The sparks could of taken out the thermal fuse though.

I replaced the bearing on this same dryer. It came with a tube of lubricant, but no instructions where it needs lubricated. It is high temperature Frigidaire lubricant. Dryer model FSE747GES1. The dryer works, but bearing is making a lot of noise. Where exactly does it need lubricated?

Hi Krista,

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
FSE747GES1
Diagram#1 Part location#12 is your white plastic cup style bearing, the lubricant goes in their, use alot to fill that cup somewhat.
