top load washer squeak squeal during spin
Have a glgt1142cs1 new combo unit. While spinning there is a very load (90-100db)squeak, muck like fingernails on chalkboard. The unit is brand new. Called warranty service and the tech replaced the snubber ring. The snubber ring looked like a 2 inch band made into a ring with rubber on top and bottom, about 9 inches in diameter (saw he put some grease on it too.) Fine for a couple of weeks, then its back again.
Any ideas? Is there a snubber ring from another manufacturer that works better possibly?
thanks so much!

Hi,

Nope.

Common problem.

No rubber, teflon like pads built into both sides. Should also use no grease.
New ring, arrow up, clean base and suspenstion bottom with alcohal like cleaner, replace snubber ring, set an off balanced load and let spin for 2-3 minutes to work some of the teflon from the ring onto the mating surfaces. That is the basics of changing the snubber.
