Default FRIGIDAIRE dryer FSG447GHS0

I am about to replace my motor how do I get the squirrel cage blower off the motor shaft? I see its threaded but I don't want to turn it the wrong way. What is the proper procedure to change out the motor on this unit
Help
Bob

Hi Bob,

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
FSG447GHS0
Diagram#5 Part location#28 is your motor.

Its been awhile since I changed a motor on this Frigidaire dryer, but I believe its reverse-threaded. Just hold the motor shaft on the belt pulley side with a crescent wrench, then turn the blower wheel clock-wise.

Thanks for the info everything went well. While I was in there I cleaned and shopvaced everything. I teach a building trades program with high school students where we build a new home every year. If the dryer was made out of wood it would have been no sweat. If I can ever help you with a construction question fell free to contact me.
Thanks again !!!
Have a safe and prosperous 2008

Good job fixing it Nailbender.

I think that building trades program for the high school students is really good to teach the high school students, they learn alot and teaches good self-esteem skills and the feeling of self-satisfaction of accomplishment in building a house, just like fixing appliances.
