Default FWT445GES2 Interval Spin Problem

Hi Jake and Group,

Our FWT445GES2 washer was purchased in March, 1998. I have done several repairs already; Timer and Door Latch replaced about one year ago. The current problem is that the Rinse cycles do not get the soap out. I followed the cycle through while timing various sections and looking at the chart in the service info. With a Regular cycle and no clothes in the unit, the machine goes through all the steps on the chart and the times seem good; I can see both the 450 rpm and 650/850 rpm spins for the correct times. But I notice that on the Interval Spin parts of the Rinse cycle (S1 + S1) the machine seems to only run at 450 rpm for two very short times of the 100 second period. Next I ran a small load of clothes and I only saw one short 450 rpm spin in the Interval Spin cycle. My wife reports that with a full load there is no 450 rpm spin in the Rinse cycle at all. I have checked the resistances of all the motor windings and they are fine. So my thought is that the Speed Control Board is probably bad. Does that sound right?? Or are there other things I need to test?? Thanks.

John

Hi John,

Yes, if your motor resistances check fine, then I would say your motor control board may be malfunctioning.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
FWT445GES2
Diagram#1 Part location#4 is your motor control board you can order.

If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund.

Jake
