Default frigidaire FSE748GFS1 stopped running and wont start up

I have a problem with my dryer not starting back up. I had put a load in and started the unit and it appeared to stop running on its own after about 10-15 minutes. I think the timer stopped also. I tried to check out a few things with the meter but im no electrician. I had voltage sitting at the black wire on the motor(120 I think) and 32v on the yellow wire. I didnt write any of this down so I may have listed it wrong. I tried to check the motor with the ohm meter as well and I believe that it is good.
I am leaning towards the timer right now.
I have taken the dryer apart due to the fact that I am going to go ahead and replace the rear bearing kit and glide drum due to it being older and a little worn. it wouldnt take long to put it back together to test anything though.
Anyone have info. as to what may have made the dryer crap out on me? I am wanting to order my parts fast. I cant let this stay down to long if you know what I mean.
Thanks

Its more likely the motor. When you start it now, does it just hum?

As a test have someone hold the door switch, then push the start button and hold it and at the same time turn your drum counter-clockwise, then release the start button and see if it starts turning on its own.

Here's the motor for your model:

Jake
Before I tore the dryer apart I wasnt getting any humming noise from the motor when you push the start button. I thought that I could barely here a small noise like a click from around the timer area. Probably what you are saying is that I wont get any hum from the motor unless I spin the drum, correct?

I will throw it back together and try spinning the drum like you said and see if the hum noise is there.

If I pull the connector off the motor and probe one of the wires what should I see for voltage when I push the start button? Wouldnt that eliminate the timer if I see a change in voltage?
Thanks

Ok I just checked the motor as per your instructions and I am not getting any kind of hum. I even tried the other way and nothing. I did however just barely here a click noise from the timer when I would push the start button. I positioned the timer in a few different settings like permanent press and normal drying along with dif. heat settings with the same results.
what to do now...

Ok,

What I meant by the humming sound is when I go out to service Frigidaire dryers for this kind of a problem, what I find is when I push the start button, the motor will hum and not turn the drum, then if I push the drum counter-clockwise while its humming and it starts turning, then I know for sure its a bad motor.

So if its not humming, then its possibly your timer, here's the timer for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 131710100

Now if you order parts from our links here and install them and it doesn't work, you always have a 30 day full refund when you return the parts.

Jeff has a good help section on checking your motor, to see if thats the problem:

Thank you Jake
I have just ordered the timer and a few other parts as well. We had been getting a few rust colored stains on a few garments so I ordered the glide drum. It appeared to be worn and had rust on the felt. I have a new belt on the way and a rear bearing kit.
I actually purchased from appliance parts pros before when our frigidaire front loader made a loud noise when it was on the final spin. Come to find out it was the arms that mount to the drum had started to break off and got out of balance. That was a fun fix for me. I kind of actually liked repairing this kind of stuff.
Anyways I will let you know if the timer repaired the problem when I get the parts in.
Thanks

got the timer in today and installed it. same problem, so I guess you are right about the motor. I will order that on Monday and will give the results later.

Ok, yea, it sounded like a motor issue from what you said in your first post.

You can return the timer for a full refund, and order the motor.

Keep us posted.

I have figured it out. It is the Thermal Limiter that is mounted on the back wall of the dryer. I checked out the motor with a new one and it still didnt work. I messed with a few of the sensors and came across the thermal one.
I appreciate the help there Jake and hope that maybe my findings will help some others.
