I have a electric frigidaire dryer Model # fde336ret2 with some issues.
First it needs a new bearing assembly, idler arm, & maybe the belt, which all of them i know how to fix. When i took the front panel off to check the felt, glides, etc. i realized that the felt/glides on the door panel are browned, and the felt flap thats stapled to the top of the heater pan is burnt but still attached. There is also a burn mark on the back of the cabinet behind the top of the heater pan. What is the problem that has caused the felt piece on top of the heater pan to become burned? I have seen this issue in a couple other threads but no one has answered this issue directly. If the heater pan assembly needs replaced, i would be better off buying a new dryer as all the issues would cost at least $300.00 to buy the parts, and around $300.00 for a new dryer. If anyone would answer the question about the burnt felt on top of the heater pan i'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much! Tonia |

Hi Tonia,
I see the burnt felt on the heater housing alot on these models. Its mostly due to poor vent issues from the dryer exhaust to the outside of the house, either the exhaust vent is kinked/semi-clogged or the long vent run is another factor, usually if the dryer is on an wall in the home thats an exterior wall to the outside and the exhaust vent is very short, I usually don't see the felt burnt. But if you did need to replace the heating element assembly with the other parts being worn out as well, it would be better to just invest the repair money into a new dryer. Its always better to change the front felt assembly when changing the rear bearing assembly. Here's the idler arm assembly for your model: Manufacturer's Number: 131863007 Here's the belt for your model: Manufacturer's Number: 134503600 Here's the rear bearing kit for your model: Manufacturer's Number: 5303281153 Here's the felt pad assembly(includes white strips): Manufacturer's Number: 5303937139 Jake
