Question Frigidaire Dryer Air Shutter adjustment

Hi guys,

I don't have my model number here with me. The dryer is the one that came with the LTF2940ES0 front load washer (if that helps).

We just moved and I had to convert over to LP from NG. I did the conversion. Yellow flames are rampid. I searched here and found what the air shutter is (doesn't show in the conversion directions). It also doesn't state to install it for an "Ice Cream Scoop" burner. Which is what mine looks like. It says to install it for the "Flame Spreader" burner, though.

Now down to the question.

It doesn't say to install but the next step says it may need to be adjusted to it's full opening, How? It's just a cap that is inserted "flush" into the burner with a sleeve over it, correct?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Mavedog

Hi Mavedog,

We would definitely need the model# of your dryer to pull up the parts diagram to get you the proper information for this issue.

The model number is LGQ2152ES0.

Last night I put the collar on tried both inserting the "End Cap" looking thing into burner and without the end cap in the burner with the collar on the burner.

Best color I received was when I had no end cap with the collar on but slid all the way back towards the gas body part.

Though, the color still has some orange flames in it and also sputters sometimes like it's getting a burst of air into the stream creating a full orange flame. But for the most part stays blue with mixed light orange color in it.

Is this the way it is suppose to be in color? I read light blue but I imagined like a jet engine type flame.

Thanks,

sky

Here's a photo and link that shows you, it says gas range, but it also applies to a gas dryer:

Here's the conversion kit from Natural to LP for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: PCK2003

Hey Jake,

First, that image of the parts is close, the one that arrived also includes a cap (looks like a bottle cap with a hole in it).

Second, the part that wraps around the burner, is that the air shutter adjustment? I adjust it by sliding it forward or back, correct?

Third, my color would be between 'b' and 'c' and it fluxuaties to a full flame at times. Which means call the service guy, darn.

Fourth, my flame is large, should it be smaller? Like a single flame (shown in example). It reaches the back of the dryer where the vent turns upward.

Thanks again for helping out,

mavedog

Yes, correct.

Is that the exact conversion kit you installed in your dryer? The one I posted above?

Same Part#?

Any idea on the size (length) of the flame? how far back it should reach (normally).

It should go a good ways, as long as its a strong flame, and not weak/lazy.
