Angry Frigidaire won't start

my model is FERB7800DS0

the dryer won't start. when you press the on switch it just humms. nothing turns, nothing kicks on. let go of the switch and it won't start.


i have a wet load in it

Hi,

It sounds like you may have a bad motor.

As a test have someone hold the door switch, then push the start button and hold it and at the same time turn your drum counter-clockwise, then release the start button and see if it starts turning on its own.

If it starts running, its definitely your motor thats bad.

strange I turned the drum 1/2 a turn each way then closed the door and it started up with out issue.

i've turn in on 10 times now with out issues. any other ideas?

Yup, your motor is bad.

You'll need to replace it, cause it will do it again in time.
