Default Professional Series 1 Drop of Water Leak

Hello I have a Frigidaire Professional Series PLD2855RFC1 dishwasher. It is 2 months old installed by the builder's sub in a brand new home. From the first time my inspector ran it, it was leaking puddles of water from underneath the front left onto the wood floor.

I had a tech come out, he releveled and corrected a pinched gasket. It eliminated 99 percent of the leak. However I now have 1 small drop of water appear near the end of the cycle right under the bottom right corner of the door.

A second tech came out and changed the door gasket. Still getting the single drop of water under the bottom right front corner of the unit. I cannot feel any wetness above it at all. I am at a loss trying to find out where it is coming from. And because this drop usually mysteriously appears in the last 20 minutes or so I have not witnessed it coming out. I think it is happening after it enters the HO cycle whatever that is.

My next option short of requesting a new DW is to lay down on my back for the last half hour of the cycle to see if I can see where this drop of water is coming from. To tell you the truth if I didn't have wood floors in there I wouldn' care about 1 drop. At least I am not getting the pint or so of liquid I was getting when it was first installed.

Thanks for any help and I did do an extensive search here and could not find anybody with my unique 1 drop problem, only folks who had my initial problem of water pouring out throughout the cycle.

Thanks again
Sammy

Hi Sammy,

I would tell you to take of the front panel to see, but since its still new and under warranty its best to let the authorized Frigidaire techs. take care of it.

If they can't fix the leak whether it be 1 drop or a flood, you should press for a new dishwasher.

Yes I just didn't want to make matters worse when all I have right now is 1 small drip. I would be glad to take the door off and look. Are you saying that I should run the dishwasher with the front panel off? I think it is just 2 screws on the inside and then I pull down and out with the panel. I just got that off of the Frigidaire site although mine has the large stainless handle on it and it would appear that I should also remove the 2 other screws which secure the handle in order to get the whole panel off. Can you advise.

Thanks for your help.
Sammy

What I'm saying is DON'T take it apart, Frigidaire can void your warranty if you start messing with it, then your S-O-L, pardon my French.

Well I tried it without the heat dry on thinking it might be condensation and it did 2 loads with no leaks and thought it was fixed. However today it dropped a couple of drops again right outside the right front edge of the door.

I called the dealer and they are willing to replace any part I suggest. I had suggested the tub gasket when they ordered and replaced it. So this time I suggested the gasket on the bottom of the door as I can see that as the only other way for water to make its way out in front of that right corner. Otherwise I would see water under the machine which I don't when I take off the kick plate.

My question is can you think of any other parts to suggest they replace until it is ultimately fixed or I have to insist on the replacement of the machine. In their defense, they cannot really diagnose this leak without having the tech sit here for 90 minutes on the floor right in front of the machine. So any other parts that you think might be at fault, please let me know.

Thanks
Sammy

What I tell the customer to do is start the dishwasher and let it run while I'm driving out to their house, then by that time Its been about 30-60 minutes drive time, then I would see the leak without having to wait the full 90 minutes.

I can't think of any other part that would cause it to just drip like that, unless the detergent dispenser gasket wasn't tight and leaking very slowly down the inside of the door to the floor.

it's probably condensation related and could be viewed with door panel off when near to dry cycle. the tech gets paid for sitting on the floor waiting for something to happen- that's the easy money, it's warranty so let them figure it out or angle on a replacement.
