Default frigidaire icemaker

Frigerator sde-by-side model FRS22ZGHW4 icemaker does not work. Door dispenser works okay. Incoming water to the solenoid valve has plenty pressure. I removed water filter element previously. plastic pipe from single solenoid to icemaker is clear. Looking from back of fridge which filter could be defective. The right side single solenoid or the left side double solenoid or is there another possibility? I cycled the icemaker by starting the gear rotation with a screwdriver. The lever seems to function okay.

Hi,

So there is no water getting into your ice maker? Feel inside your ice maker tray for any ice.

You may have an ice clog in your fill tube, check your fill tube that comes in from the back of your freezer for an ice clog first.

When you cycle the ice maker did you hear any sound from the back that sounded like a solenoid humming when the cycle was almost complete?

Thanks for the reply. The fill tube is clear. I don't hear any sound when I recycle the icemaker. I remember When the icemaker used to work I would hear a fairly load water fill noise.

Ok, possibly a bad water inlet valve.

When one is bad, its always best to change both, as they work together.

Here's the water inlet valves for your model:
Manufacturer part number 218859701 is RepairClinic item number 452316

Hi Jake, the icemaker started to work again but not as good as before. I did two things that I don't believe caused it to work. I blew the fridge bottom with a leaf blower and I increased the water flow by turning the screw at the icemaker.

Ok, If it gets worse again, you may need to change the water inlet valves.

ok heres my story with my fridge the ice maker was working but not at full strengh but the water was not flowing at all. then 2 weeks ago the ice stopped working so I first replaced the filter located in the back of the fridge.

the water works fine now flows very well but no ice. I checked the try for ice and there is none. I took apart the inlets above and removed alot of dust my question is the blue line that goes from the inlet to the icemaker is there supposed to be a good amount of water flowing through? If there is now ice by tomorrow I will replace the inlets suggested above.

Any imput would be great

Yes, a good amount should be flowing through.

It seems now the water just sprays out randomly from water dispenser. I think i may have incorrectly hookup the lines behind the fridge. do you have a diagram of the correct hookup?

Unfortunately, the diagram doesn't show the plastic tubing routing from the water inlet valves.
