Frigidaire side by side Mod # PLHS267ZCB4,
Compressor clicks on, runs, lines get cool, and in 5-6 seconds clicks off again. Both fans (inside and outside) running. Condensor coils clean. Compressor not too hot to touch, just warm After 1-2 minutes, repeats itself. any ideas ?? |

Hi,
Yes, your compressor is bad, you will need it replaced. If your refrigerator is less than 5 yrs. old, then contact Frigidaire and they will send a tech. out to do it for no charge. Parts & Labor are covered for 5 yrs. on sealed systems, which includes the compressor. I have changed many of these compressors for that same problem. Jake

could it be frozen coils ? i have not checked yet. this model has a t-stat driven defrost system instead of a mech timer.
i put it in the defrost cycle manually, (5 light switch cycles in 6 seconds). keeping an eye on it now. |

But do check your evaporator coils, take off the back panel inside your freezer. If they are frosted up I will be surprised, as thats not common when your compressor won't start. Jake

Thanks Jake, Entering defrost cycle did not help. Coils not frozen.
I guess I will call for service. Compressor is not something I can do myself. |

Yes, a compressor is something no one can change without a refrigeration license now, due to the EPA laws that went into effect in the mid 90's.
Please keep us posted on the outcome. Jake
