Default [FIXED] FDB636GFR5 door switch stops wash cycle

The dishwasher often stops before completing the full wash/dry cycle. I pulled the cover off and see that the door switch doesn't seem to have enough force to close the switches. Pressing on it I hear the micro-switches close and it continues. I've taken it off after flipping the breaker and can't for the life of me see what's wrong other than the spring may not have enough "spring". If I press hard on the door it will usually start up but not always. If I pull the cover off, I can press against the handle and make it start.

Do I need to replace the handle assembly? I tested with a meter and the switches seem to be opening and closing, it just seems as if the handle doesn't put enough force on the switches to close them all the time. Is there an adjustment I can make?

Thanks all,
Paul

Default That was it!

Jake,

Thank you for the quick response. The handle assembly was what I needed. It got worse during the week and finally got where I would only run if I pushed in on the handle. I really would have just needed the switches but could not find were to buy 2. The new assembly appears to be a complete redesign and much more robust. Works great now.
