Jake- Good Evening. I am trying another ice maker in the house and cannot get it to work either. It is a brand new FRIGIDAIRE ICE MAKER IM34. I have a good water flow from the supply line but it never gets past the water valve on back. The water valve is also brand new. I have checked to make sure all the lines are clear. I am thinking that I'm not getting power to the water valve from the wiring harness. I tried using the voltage meter on the plug that leads to the valve, but there was no reading. The same result happened with a completly different harness. There is power coming from the wiring plug on the back of the fridge where the wiring harnes for the ice maker plugs in. Any suggestions? Should I be getting some reading from the water valve plug? I know less about electrical things than I do about plumbing! Thanks for any help you can offer.

Ok, I'm a little confused, from your other thread you have a Maytag correct?
And your using a new Frigidaire ice maker in the Maytag? Or this another refrigerator you have altogether? If so whats the model# of this Frigidaire refrigerator? Jake

Ok, thanks.
Yes, you should get 120 volts to the water inlet valve but only for about 5-10 secs towards the end of the ice maker cycle. What I do is put your volt meter leads into the electrical connector that goes to your water inlet valve, then manually cycle your ice maker, then wait and keep watching your volt meter, give it about 3-5 minutes to run through the ice maker cycle, then towards the end of it your volt meter should read 120 volts for about 5-10 seconds. Let me know what you find. Jake

Turn the gear clockwise a little then you should see the motor start turning it own its own:

Hello Jake! Fedup is my husband and he asked me to email you because now that we have our ice maker problems worked out, I noticed today our Maytag fridge isn't keeping the food cold like it should be. He wanted me to go ahead and email you now rather than waiting till tonight when he gets home. The freezer is fine, but the fridge isn't cold. I've tried turning up the controls but that isn't helping. The model # is MVZ2766GE and it's a dual cool. Let me know if you need any other info from me and thanks in advance for your help! - Fedup's wife

Hi,
Please double check your model#, that one isn't showing as good. Take the food out of your freezer, then take the shelves out, then take off the back access panel inside your freezer and look at the evaporator coils, are they totally frosted up? Normal would be a thin layer of frost on ALL the evaporator coils. Now is this one your Maytag? Not Frigidaire? If its your Maytag, I will need to move these posts to the Maytag forum. Jake
