Default POS frigidare

I have this Piece of s*** the fridge is around 4 years old purchased this on 07/30/04.
S X S
Model # PLHS269XCB2
SER # LA34118379

The problem started off like this fridge was getting warm in fridge section and water was dripping out of the ice dispenser door. The wife heard this noise coming from the freezer side ok I said. So I removed the shelves and removed the back wall the evaporator fan quit working and the evap was iced up, I removed all the food to our 18 years old GE fridge was never had any problems. Defrosted the complete unit till is dry. Turn it back on and put the stat back in the factory setting, No fan blowing just icing up again. Simple right ordered new fan from repairclinic.com,part came in installed the fan plugged the fridge back in fan was spinning YEAH! Closed the unit back up. Checked the unit the next day. Freezer was 18 degrees on the bottom all the way up to the ice maker bottom. Above the ice maker the temp was 40.The fridge side was basically the same icy on the bottom warm on top.

I put the fridge in override to start the defrost fan went off compressor shut off the heater came on melted the snow looking ice on the evap coil.
Still the same after 3 days. the damper works no air leaks with gaskets lights all go off when the door is closed.....Still confused I searched the internet for the same symptoms on others all said the same basic problems and they had a fix for this. So now I figured I may need a defrost control as I haven't heard it go into defrost. Ordered the part and installed no change same thing happening no improvement. I feel the air circulating in the freezer and very little in the fridge top of fridge is warm bottom is iced cold 25 degrees. I am at my wits end and feel like taking this and out the door to the trash. I know I ordered the right parts as I am very mechanically inclined I own my own Electrical contracting comp (30 years) so I know how to do some of my own repairs, usaually all goes well except for this possessed unit I believe the compressor is now bad time to call in a pro.

HELP me someone.

Yes, sounds like your compressor is bad, the freezer should be at 0-10 degrees at all times with the evaporator fan running and with all the evaporator coils having a thin layer of frost on them ALL.

You have a 5 yr. parts & labor warranty on the sealed system/compressor from Frigidaire.

Contact Frigidaire to come out for warranty work.

Question Same Problems

Ok now I called a Authorized service center and they replaced the compressor,he really wasn't 100 % but what the heck he changed it anyway. So now I have the following
1 new Compressor
1 new evaporator fan
1 new defrost control
no ice in the back coils inside the freezer
still the freezer is 40 on top and 17 on the bottom of freezer
not making ice as it is too warm.
What else could be the problem ??
I put in a small desk fan at the bottom of the fridge where the air flows through, now (24 hours later) it is around 21 degrees on top and around 18 near the bottom and still hardly any ice like a tray every 4 hours. I believe I have a circulation problem when I put the small fan in the fridge side to circulate the air it seems to cool pretty good, not like it should at least my food is safe again. I am ready to drag this to the ocean and use it as a anchor I tried to get a hold of Frigidaire to ask them I got know where they said call a service center, well in my rural area the closet one is 50 miles and there are about 3 in a 100 mile radius. What next??

Signed the fridge who thinks it is a oven.

P.S. all the gaskets are in good shape and there are no cold air leaks around the doors.

Its still the sealed system thats not working properly, yes you have a new compressor, but if he didn't charge it with freon correctly, or there's a restriction in the sealed system it won't get cold as it should.

Call them back, insist they either fix it right or tell them to replace the complete refrigerator!
