Default GLTF1670AS0-tub bearing failure

Has anyone experienced a tub bearing failure?

This is the second Frigidaire front loading washer I've had that has had a tub bearing failure. The only reason I bought the one I have now is that Frigidaire offered me about $150 toward a new machine the last time it happened, just over 4 years ago when it was about 6 months out of warranty. Of course this machine is out of warranty and two months ago I replaced the timer. I certainly won't buy another one of these.

The only repair is to replace the tub. Is this something I can do myself? And is it worth it?

Is the GE front loader more reliable?

Default False alarm I hope?

Maybe this isn't the bearing. The tub is making no noise while spinning.

But at certain times during the cycle, right at the end of the wash cycle and at the beginning of the spin cycle (Whites) the whole machine shakes from side to side. And there's a pounding noise coming from inside the machine at other times while the tub is barely moving.

Is there a problem with the tub mounts? What do I look for?

Thanks.

Hi,

Sounds like possibly one of your tub shocks are broken, they mount to the tub from the bottom base of your washer.

Here are the shocks for your model:
