Default [FIXED] 10 year old Frigidaire Gallery front loader

Frigidaire Gallery fills and drains and runs through cycle, but won't agitate or spin. Makes an unhappy sound while trying to do so. I can turn the drum either way manually. Ideas?

Yes, sounds like your motor control board went out, very common when this issue happens.

Whats the model# of your washer? Its located inside the door.

Here is the motor control board for your model:
Spin control board assembly

All parts come with a 30 day full refund, even if you installed them.

You pull your washer out from the wall, then take off the fill hoses(turn off the water supply first) then take off the back access panel, then you will see it in the back on the left side facing the back. Disconnect the electrical quick connectors to it, then unmount it from the washer base, then install the new one.

So, if that turns out not to be the problem, I can send the part back for a refund??

Yes, you sure can.

There should be a tech. data sheet in the bottom of your washer on the inside panel once you remove the lower front access panel, it has diagnostics steps to go through to confirm if its the motor speed control board or not as well.

This thread explains more about this problem too:

The Kenmore 417 model is the exact identical one to yours.

Haha, that thread made me think I should just bite the bullet and buy another washer... I ordered the board though and we'll see what comes of that. Thanks!

Thank you, the part you recommended fixed the problem. I was unexpectedly out of town for a couple of weeks, but my husband got the part installed while I was away and had success doing some laundry.
