Default Frigidaire Affinity AGQ6000ES2 stops after 3 min.
I have a 1.5 year old gas dryer that stops working after about 3 min. of use. It has heat , and I unhooked the the vent and the problem persisted. The display lights flash when it is running and when stopped. I attempted to retrieve error codes but was unable to do so. Could this be the control panel failing?

Yes, thats likely the cause.
