Arrow Frigidaire FWT449GFS1 won't agitate or spin

Jake,
My front load Frigidaire won't agitate or spin. Originally, I thought it was the impeller that pumps out the water (front right behind lower front panel) as my wife told me that the clothes were all very wet. (We have had the impeller jam up with lint many times in the past.) I took out the pump assembly and thoroughly cleaned the impeller and reinstalled.

It was then that I realized that the machine wasn't agitating or spinning. The lack of spinning caused a lot of water to be left in the machine. I checked the drive belt and it is on. The door lock appears to be operational (as well as the detergent drawer).

I need your help--hopefully today. I am leaving tomorrow on a business trip for 4 days. I am hoping to troubleshoot it today and at least get parts on order.

THANK YOU!
Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes, it sounds like your spin control board is bad. But at $322 its not advisable to replace it since your washer is already 11 years old. You can buy a new washer for a little bit more and won't have to worry about other parts wearing out.

Here's the spin control board for your model:
Manufacturer part number 131725300 is RepairClinic item number 408144

Jake,
Does that control both the spin cycle and the regular wash cycle agitation?
Thanks again!

Thanks again, Jake. Your advice was WELL WORTH the $5 for my lifetime membership!

I found a used Maytag Super Capacity Plus set for sale in Salt Lake City (about an hour drive for me) for $300. Has a 90 day warranty and recently serviced. I believe this is a better way to go!

Sounds good Bob, just make sure its not too old, as lots of the Maytags with age on them have been known to have motors that go bad quicker than other brands.

If you click the Sears banner I posted above I found a Frigidaire front-loader just the same as yours, but the next generation of them for $463 new.
