I've got a Frigidaire Crown Dryer, CRGR5700AS1. It's been giving me trouble with heat. It seems to be capable of making heat, but decides not to (it'll get warm, initially, but then the heat goes away and it spins cold). I imagine it's something to do with either a thermostat or a gas regulator device, but I don't know enough about dryers to make a more accurate assessment than that. Any ideas, and if so, what part should I buy.
Also (and this is a dumber question), how do I get the darn thing apart? I can't seem to separate the panel sections to get at the innards, and I imaging there must be a trick I'm oblivious to. Thanks! Frazer Bradshaw |

It sounds like possibly your gas coils are going out.
Here's the gas coil kit for your model: Gas valve solenoid coil kit ![]() Here's a help link as well, it also shows you how to take it apart: http://www.applianceaid.com/gas_dryer.html#noheat Jake

I ordered the parts, installed them in about half an hour, and the dryer seems to be working properly.
Thanks Jake! Frazer |
