[FIXED] Frigidaire FRS26ZRG no water or ice
Hello,
I just bought a home with a Frigidaire FRS26ZRG. I do not know the history of the unit. It does not make ice and when I try to use the water dispenser, I can hear a humming sound but no water comes out. I checked the water supply line and there is definitely water going into the unit as the puddle in my kitchen can attest to. Next time I will bring a bucket.
I removed the filter and it did not help. I tried using the dispenser with the filter cover removed and nothing happened (except the humming sound). I have read other threads on this forum regarding replacing some valves but before I started ordering parts I wanted to know if there is anything I should try first.
When replying please take into consideration that while I can take apart and reassemble a supercomputer blindfolded, I have no knowledge or experience with appliances and couldn't tell the difference between a solenoid and a flux capacitor. Please don't mistake my inexperience for being obtuse.
Regards,
Steve in Alaska

Since I posted, now a LITTLE water trickles out when I try to get water and the unit has made about a dozen ice cubes. Is it still the valves or is there something else I can try? Also, I looked at the model number (inside the door) and the 2 letters you are refering to are not there. Is there someplace else I should be looking?
thanks for your help.
p.s. Is changing the valves something an idiot like I can do?

Very simple, they are both located in the back of your refrigerator, pull the refrigerator out from the wall, turn off your water supply, remove the lower access panel, and you should see both, one on one side, the other on the other side.
Just change them out as you see them installed, they are mounted with 2 screws each to your inner cabinet.
Wiring and tubing all go in the exact same place as the originals.

Question I have Model FRS26HF7BQ2 and I'm having a similar problem. I have replace the main water valve. But I'm still not getting any ice. I have look at the inlet tubing for frozen water and I see none. the green line on the back of the fridge does not have any water. Any help would be appreciated. Tried the hair dryer etc. on the coils.
The arm is in the down position and water is flowing as I can dispense thru the in-door. How long will I have to wait for the icemaker to cycle, to send water to the unit. Installed the new water vale last night about 8pm.

Then pull the front plastic cover off your ice maker, and turn the gear in the way the arrow points, turn it about 1/4 of a turn, then it should go by itself, then wait a few minutes and see if it puts water in your ice maker before the ejector blades stop.
Let us know what happens.
