Default Frigidaire water leak in door

Frigidaire model FRS23LH5DS9 is leaking water from the bottom of the dispensing unit in the door. The ice maker had a lot of solid ice in the bottom, so I thoroughly defrosted the freezer & cleaned everything out, but after I put the icemaker bin back in and turned it on again, the leak returned. Before I cleaned it out, the dispenser tray sometimes filled up and overflowed too.

So its either leaking from the ice maker and running down into the ice bucket container and out through the dispenser, or its leaking from the water dispenser itself.

The water dispenser isn't leaking?

Its possibly the ice maker leaking, seen that happen many times.

Here's the ice maker for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 5304458371

Unhappy Frigidaire water leak in door

Thanks, Jake. It does appear to be coming from the ice maker - it's now dripping inside and filling up the ice chute into the door. So are you saying I need to replace the icemaker unit?

If yes, is that a job for a moderately handy person who can read directions, or should I call a repairman?

Yes, sounds like the ice maker is bad.

If you've fixed other things around your house, it shouldn't be a problem to replace the ice maker.

It mounts on the side wall in your freezer, should have 2 screws on the top that you can loosen and push it up a little then it should come out, then unsnap the electrical connector that connects behind it.

Then install the new one.

Take the ice container bucket out to get more room.
