Default [FIXED] Frigidaire Gas Dryer No Heat

    Model Number: fsg748gfs1
    Brand: Frigidaire
    Age: More than 10 years

Hi Gurus, Ben back here again.
I have an 11 yo Frigidaire Gallery fsg748gfs1.
In 2004 I I had no heat, and I seem to have ordered every part possible from repairclinic back then and can't remember if I used all or only some. No record of returns. I ordered igniter, coils, thermal fuse, light sensor.

I live in NYC and have a cramped kitchen-- there's a cabinet above the stacked washer/dryer that must be temporarily removed to be able to gain access to the top of the dryer for diagnostics. I only want to remove this once.

I've studied all the info here and I'm wondering if I should just order everything again? Or is there a usual culprit? (Thanks to Jake for helping me recently with my Oven igniter.)

Only clues I have: When I start the dryer, in addition to the tumbling, I hear a click and a buzzing sound, then after 15 seconds or so, another click and the buzzing sound goes away. No buzzing/clicking at all in tumble dry. I assume the click is the solenoid to start the glow or the gas, the buzzing is the solenoid itself.

    Help. Thanks.

Yes, sounds like the gas coils have gone bad.

Manufacturer part number 5303931775 is RepairClinic item number 3449

Might it also be a lazy igniter like the oven?

No, now a lazy flame would cause the flame to prematurely make the hi-limit thermostat trip and cause a "taking forever" to dry issue.

It was the gas coils. I replaced the igniter too since i was in there, even though it ohm'ed out OK.

    Thanks again.
