Freezer working, Refrigerator not cooling--HELP!
Brand:
Frigidaire
Age:
6-10 years
Woke up this morning to find our fridge isn't cooling, however the freezer side seems to be working ok. I know there are a hundred different things that could be wrong, but any ideas as to a quick fix? Thank you!

First check if both fans are working. The evaporator fan motor is in the freezer section. The condenser fan motor is by the compressor. Make sure the compressor is running. Make sure coils under the refrigerator are clean. Frost or ice build up on the back wall of the freezer would indicate a defrost problem and the refrigerator would stop cooling. It sometimes appears that just the refrigerator section is not cooling but the freezer seems to be working OK. The reason for this is simple; the normal operating temperature for the refrigerator section is around 38 degrees. And for the freezer, 0 degrees is normal. If there is a problem with cooling and the temperature rises 20-25 degrees or more, it’s noticeable in the fridge section if it’s 58-63 degrees. However in the freezer section a rise of 25 degrees is still below freezing (32) and not that noticeable without a thermometer.
