Drain line freezing shut
Brand:
Frigidaire
Age:
1-5 years
Hello,
This unit is just the latest one to give us this problem. We have had many of the similar FRT18 units over the last 6 years give us problems. The drain line in the freezer compartment freezes over completely and then it starts raining inside the refrigerator. I usually thaw the drain tube out and then it is better. A handful of the units do it once to twice a year. Is the there a more permanent fix for this or a reason for this to occur.
Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,
Did you run anything else down the drain line besides hot water? like a little rotor router snake?
I use a evaporator cooler spider snake:

Also run a little bleach through the drain line.
