I have a pesky leak where the water line goes into the rubber connector on the back of the fridge near the ice tray. I've replaced the water filter and also checked the screen at the water valve to make sure I have no blockage. The hose clamp at the rubber gasket, going into the freezer is snug but a stream of water squirts out when the water is periodically refilling for ice making. It's as if the blockage is in the ice maker itself, but I can't see from the inside how to check inside the freezer/ice maker for blockage.

Sounds like some ice is blocking that fill spout, remove the plastic water line in the back where its clamped, then get a hair dryer to blow hot air into that rubber tube that goes into the back of your freezer.

Thanks, Jake. The fill tube on the ice maker was clogged with ice. The good news is that the hair dryer trick cleared it right away. The unit is not longer leaking water, but it won't make ice either. I get good water flow when selecting the chilled water option, and, of course, the icemaker arm is in the down position. I tried (multiple times) unplugging the fridge to see if that might reset the ice maker. The first time I did it, a set of ice cubes did drop into the bin as soon as I powered it back up. However, since then, no ice production at all. Any other suggestions?
Thanks! |
