Frigidaire LGHN2844MF0 door ajar alarm won't stop going off
Brand:
Frigidaire
Age:
Less than 1 year
Hello,
Frigidaire Guy here - back again. I'm the guy with the only "Sticky" on the Frigidaire part of this forum (as of 6-9-12). My new replacement Frigidaire refrigerator that we received back a few months ago from Frigidaire is having a problem now with the door ajar alarm. It goes off at random after opening / closing it. Sometimes it will be 10 minutes after it has been opened / closed. I can go in and open / close the doors and shut them really hard or shake it and the alarm will clear.
Anyone ever experience this before?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's still alarming intermittently and for no obvious reason.

Yes, its only a few months old. After the fiasco I had dealing with Frigidaire on the other one before this, I hate the thought of having to start that whole process over again. I probably will but was hoping someone here might be able to help before I go that route.

Yes I understand, Its too new and I have no idea whats causing it.
I didn't answer your first post in this thread thinking someone thats had this issue would post to what it is causing it, so if you're not getting any replies from others, only other solution is to get Frigidaire to come out.

Thanks for contacting Frigidaire.
We do again regret that you are experiencing issues with your new refrigerator that were experienced with your previous unit. While we strive to make quality products for all our consumers, there are occasions when even the best product may malfunction. We can assure you this is not the typical performance that should be expected of our product.
We do understand your frustrations and concerns with having your current unit repaired when it is experiencing the same issues that the previous unit experienced. However, the manufacturer warranty covers repair, and while there may be rare cases where we find a replacement to be necessary as with your previous unit, there are repair options for your appliance at this time and that is the resolution we need to go with. All repair options must be attempted and exhausted and all repair options have not been exhausted at this time.
Please contact one of the listed providers so that they may assist you with scheduling warranty repairs on your product. If you would like for us to contact the servicer and schedule the appointment for you, please contact us back so that we may complete this for you. You can contact us back via email or if you wish to speak with someone further in regards to this matter, you will need to call our consumer care line at 706-860-4110.
We appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to assist you in this matter.
Thanks for contacting Frigidaire.
This is all I could get out of them after numerous attempts to speak to an actual human being. In addition to the door ajar alarm, the ice maker stopped working about two weeks ago, which is the same problem we had with the first one.
I fixed it myself this weekend - I bought another refrigerator. I will try for as long as I live to never give Frigidaire or any subsidiary another dime of my money.

Thats ridiculous, by law they have to fix it under warranty, if they can't they have to replace it.
Contact your State Attorney Generals Office - Consumer products page and file a claim against them, that will get you action quickly.
If you already bought a new refrigerator still have them fix it, then sell it on craigslist to recupe some of your money back.
