I have a Frigidaire Gallery front load stackable washer, model FWT647GHS1. It's about 2, maybe 3 years old. Recently, about halfway through the wash cycle, it emits a very loud buzzing sound. It last for a 30 seconds or maybe a minute and then stops. This happens several times of varying duration. One time the buzzing is only 2 seconds. The buzzing is electronic, not mechanical and happens at the exactly same times and durations during each wash. The clothes appear to wash normally.

I called one repair place and a technician said to unplug the machine and then plug it in again because something needed to be re-set. I did that but it didn't help.

Since, except for the buzzing noise, the machine appears to be operating normally, I'm inclined to ignore it. But I would hate for the buzzing to be an indicator of a problem that left unfixed would be a very costly repair later on.

Any ideas short of calling a repairman?

Hi,

Only things that I have seen buzzzzzz so far has been the acual buzzer ( your modelshows one )....possible timer telling the buzzer to go off at incorrect times?....and the door latch/catch can buzzzz, eps if the door is twisted a bit.

Buzzer is #14....

I'm not particularly handy with mechanical things. If it's rebooting the washer or something like changing a battery, I could do it, but this sounds more complicated.

Anyone have a referral to a reliable repairman in the Los Angeles 90045 area? Or is one "authorized" repairman as good as the next?

You can try:

www.frigidaire.com

Click on "Customer Service".

Click the menu for "Service Locator" and then use your zip code to get a listing of local Frigidaire servicers. When you call them--request aperson with experience and knowledge of the front load washer to be sent out to examine your machine.
