Question Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side flooded kitchen

I'm at work & don't have the model number with me but was hoping I could get some insite into my fridge problem.
Had ice maker replaced after approx. 2 years.
Experienced much discussed leak in bottom of fridge after that...
In-door water dispensor also leaked.
Hubby turned off water to indoor ice & water dispensor.
Eventually had repairman fix fridge leak.
Water dispensor continued to leak (hubby turned water off again).
Freezer leaked after that. Hubby was disgusted so we manually de-iced the bottom of the freezer for over a year. Water remained off...
Finally brought in a repairman to fix freezer & water dispensor leaks.
Freezor leak stopped & water & ice dispensor worked fine all day (during large party). Same night, was awakened by screams when mother-in-law discovered water pouring out of in-door dispensor! Kitchen & basement were flooded! Hung over hubby spent hours vacuuming up water!
Water is now off for what he says is forever & I can't really blame him!
Really miss convenience of ice maker & in-door dispensors though.
Any idea why the water would suddenly "pour" out of the water dispensor?????
Also, is there a way to leave the water on for the in-freezer ice maker but not have it go to the door????
Thanks!

You have 1 of 2 things causing the front dispenser to flood like that.

Either your water inlet valve in the back of your refrigerator where your water supply hooks up to is bad, or your dispenser switch is sticking on.

To test the water inlet valve, you will need to pull the refrig. out from the wall, take off the back lower access panel, dismount the water inlet valve from the cabinet, then take off the larger of the two plastic water tubing lines from underneath the water inlet valve, then unplug the electrical connector from that side, then turn on your water supply, if water pours out then your water inlet valve is bad.

Please post your model, we will need it to continue.

Thank you Jake... I will ask my husband to check the water inlet valve.
Honestly don't know if he'll ever agree to turn the water back on though.
It would be good if we could somehow have the ice maker work without turning on the in-door dispensors...

Looks like your model was made in 1999, so its about 8 yrs. old, you can now replace it anytime since most only last 8-15 yrs. now anyways.

I would recommend Whirlpool or Kenmore made by Whirlpool(model# starting with 106.)
