Default frigidaire oven takes long time to bake

I have a frigidaire GLE7378ASG. I've had this oven for about 4 years. The display was replaced about a year or two after it was purchased. I'm glad I got the extended warranty from Best Buy because the replacement of the display paid for it.

Lately, my wife noticed that it takes a long time to bake cookies. It normally takes about 15 minutes. When she noticed it was not cooking, she used speed bake for about 3 minutes. Could there something wrong with it?

Use an oven thermometer and check the oven temperature. You may need a new senser.

That's correct, the oven is probably not getting up to temperature.

Get one of those $3 ones at your local grocery store. They're acurate enough for this purpose. I think the temperature is off by more than 100 degrees

Here's the type I use, its very accurate and a little cheaper than that one you linked to.

I found trhe cheap one...

I had to set the temp at 390 to maintain 375. So it was off by about 15.

I have extended warranty on the oven, will this be covered even though the temperature difference is small?

The oven control comes with a calibration program to raise or lower the temperature via electronic offset.
It will be explained in the owners manual, but I think all you have to do is set it for 550, hold bake for a few seconds, and then use arrow up or down to alter it.
Depending on who BB sends, they may just adjust it accordingly.
