Unhappy Tappan model- door cannot not close

Tappan gas oven- TGF355

The oven door release is stuck and will not push back to receive door.
I tried to use the self cleaning function and not sure if it worked. After several hours, the oven was cold and tried to open door, but would not open. The bake/broil functions wouldn't work. So I unplugged and re-plugged- the functions work and I open the door with some manuever, but now it will not latch.

Is the automated door release broken? Is there a manual release? If so, where, how do I access this? Should unplug the stove for a long period to see if it resets. Can I repaired this?

I appreciate your help.

Hi,

There should be 3 or 4 more letters after the 355 in your model#.

Some models have the door release in the very back, you would pull your range/oven out from the wall and take off the back access panel and you would see it. Unplug your range first.
