Garbage disposal/dishwasher hook up question
Brand:
other
Age:
More than 10 years
Hi Jake. We recently purchased a new home with an older garbage disposal. Its a big fat round one thats brown and yellow. I can't read the model info as the tag its facing the side of the cabinet under the sink. We just had the cabinetry modified to add a dishwasher. I see the connector tube for the dishwasher water exhaust line at the top of the disposal. However it doesn't have a cap or anything covering the opening. I stuck my finger in there to see if there was a plug or anything in it before I hooked up the line. When I stick my finger in there, I feel a half round ball shapped object. Is this a plug, does the thing stay, is the line ready to be hooked up from the dishwasher. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Normally what ever is in the d/w spout on the disposal, gets removed to use the drain with the d/w.
