Hotpoint won't dispense water or ice
I have a HSM25GFRFSA Hotpoint S/S. It has quit dipsensing water or ice. It still makes ice. the refrigerator is ~ 3 yrs old.
When pressing the control buttons (cubed, crushed, water) the green light indicates normally. When the control lever is depressed, the green light for whichever mode is selected, dims and the fan in the freezer turns off. Also, the dispenser light comes on very dim when attempting to dispense ice or water, it lights normally when the light button is pushed.
After reading some of the other posts I am inclined to think it may be a main board issue, but wanted some other opinions before purchasing one.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That sucks U cant get a replacement from them for free. I would go ahead and pull that old board out sooner than later. My trouble started like yours and quickly progressed to the relay constantly flipping and warming my fridge often. Its no peach pulling the icebox out over and over to reset it. Good luck!

Unfortunately my model was not included on the list to a free main board
.
I went ahead and picked one up at a local parts store. Replacement was a breeze. I noted on other posts that people said the provided instructions were confusing. I didn't find them so. Just read the notes on which model a particular step applies to and you can step the replacement easily.
Everthing seems to operating normally again. And yes, I did eventually develop the dreaded clicking.
Thanks for all the help from everyone.

Thats great your icebox is finally working again.
The only thing Ive ever encountered more stressfull in my house than the fridge going out
was when the main line to the sewer backed up
!
I think its a shame they didnt replace your main board for free with all the known failures. After all , 3 years is not very old for a fridge!
