Hello,
The stainless steel panel on my GE Profile Oven, JGBP90MEB6BC, was damaged by an errant scrub bursh and I would like to replace it. I think the GE part I need is WB57K10070. - Is this the part I need, or can I get the stainless steel panel without the control panel? - How do I remove the old panel and install this one? Is there an online repair guide for this oven? Thanks in advance! |

Hi stucook,
I looked up your model number and that is the correct part number. The part is called "Crystal and Aluminum Panel". It looks like it's held on by the end caps and some 2" felt pads (sticky) behind it. When I saw the price I fell off my chair. Anywhere from $182 to $200. Here is another option; 3-M's Scotchbrite pads. You'll need one Gray and one Maroon pad. One can WD-40. It's important you go with the grain keeping the surface wet with WD-40 and rinse often. It all depends on how deep the scratches are but this can become time consuming sometimes taking as much as 4 hours. I believe you can get the part here on this web site. Whatever your decission, good luck. Rick

Thank you for your quick reply!
What do I do with the gray and maroon pads? Do I alternate using them? Sorry if this is a very stupid question. Also, if I do need to replace the panel how do I remove the existing one? Thanks again! |

Start with the gray and finish with the maroon. Here is a parts break down maybe this will help.
