GE Factory substitute for WB27K5299
I ordered the part from repairclinic.com as shown on their and GE's web sites - WB27T10264 (844426). Can see it is not a drop-in-replacement for the WB27K5299 currently installed, not even close. Repairclinic.com says "will possibly need to be installed by an appliance repair person". Any guidance on changes necessary for the installation? |

By the way, this is for the control module for a GE wall oven model JKP15BW2BB.

All that came with it was a fuzzy page of line drawings of the supposed old and new controls - no explanation of wiring changes, no pinouts, and the line drawings do not resemble anything in the box.

I initially expected the button contacts on the control to line up with the corresponding points on faceplate touch panel. Once I opened the oven up and removed the failed control it was pretty obvious I was incorrect, and just as obvious how to do the swap. Installed it last night, working well. Don't know what the instructions included were for, but not for the control they came with. The drawings included with the new control had the same connection names, but the layout of the connections and the circuit boards were nothing like those of the new control. I think GE's supplier screwed up. Thanks for your assistance.
