Default GE Monogram Gas Cooktop - all 4 knobs spark same burner!

Thanksgiving eve at our house... not a good time for an appliance failure!

A little boil-over of turkey brine was cleaned up and went to re-start stove burners. Big problem now. All 4 knobs cause only the front right burner to spark. This was the burner of the little boil-over. Turning any of the 4 knobs causes the front right to spark incessantly (even once lit), and no other burners spark at all.

So, the problem is:

- turning any of the 4 burners causes the front right to spark constantly
- the other 3 burners won't light (no spark)

I have taken it apart (not the screws, just the individual pieces that assemble by hand on then burners), and everything looks clean and dry. I have unplugged the 110AC from the unit, and unplugged and re-plugged the front right igniter.

Nothing makes any difference... once assembled the front right goes crazy and no spark anywhere else.

HELP! Thanks... Happy Thanksgiving.

EDIT: Model # is 4-burner one of these.... ZGU36N6YSS, ZGU36N4RYSS, ZGU36N4DYSS

Look real close at the spark igniter wire going back towards the switch on the surface unit valve. It sounds like it's grounded somewhere. The only other thing it could be is the spark module, part# WB20X5077

Thanks for the reply. I went back first thing this a.m. and still only the front right was getting spark. I looked at the igniter wires. They didn't look to be grounding anything but I couldn't look into the knob panel in front where the wires pass. I disconnected the front right igniter (the only igniter that was getting spark) and then turning any knob caused the other 3 igniters to spark. Great! I then connected the front right again and now it all works. (Turning any knob causes all 4 igniters to spark). So, I'm back in business.

Something must be fishy with that front right igniter... guess I know what to target if it happens again. Funny thing is I had tried that last night and it didn't help.

I deal with a lot of used appliances and that is a common problem with gas ranges whan they get water or moisture around those wires. The water creates a good ground and thats where it usually sparks. I suspect the boil over you had reached a spot on the wire that might of had a small crack in the wire casing causing the spark to jump right to ground bypassing the other igniters. Looks like you got it fixed just in time. Happy holidays.
