Default Drys for 3 to 4 min. then goes into cooldown

GE MODEL DNCD450EA0WC

Timer window shows 45 minutes of drytime at startup. After 3 to 4 minutes it goes into cooldown for 5 minutes and shutsdown. I have checked the unit for excessive lint which it didn't have. While I was in that far I replaced the thermistor and the thermastat switches post blower. The control panel board was replaced 1 year ago. any ideas? Thanks Jacksprat

Since the original post I have decided to order all 3 of the temp limiting devices on the heating coil shroud. One of them is opening up prematurely. If this doesn't work my it needs repainting. Jacksprat

Might also want to check the connection at the control where the thermistor plugs in. A little corrosion can give you a false reading causing it to count down prematurely.
Let us know what you find.

Default Problem Solved!!!!!!!!

Well I found out what the problem was. After several teardowns and reassembles to test run the dryer, thinking that limit devices had failed, I just happen to notice a small wire that was welded to the heating coil on one end and to the heating coil shroud on the other end. It was an ordinary staple that had worked its way into the coil chamber and found a solid home. I removed the culprit and reassembled the dryer. It runs fine now. Thanks for your help though.
