Default GE Dishwasher

I have a 5 year old GE Triton XL GSD6200G00WW dishwasher. I have to admit - not the best dishwasher I've ever had. I had to replace the pump twice; luckily under warranty.

The top rack is rusting out. Significantly. It started in the back in an area that I know wasn't nicked or chipped.

Anyone else having this issue? Is it worth it to replace the rack?

Hi,

Here's the cheapest price I found on your upper rack for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: WD28X10076

At $55 for the upper rack, thats not bad, I've seen upper racks as high as $200.

I've had several customers with that same problem. It seems to start right around 5 or 6 years after they purchased it. A few have told me they've been careful about what they put on the racks. It only takes the slightest bit of moisture to get past the plastic coating and that's it. Once the metal starts to swell it's like cancer. I've tried using those plastikote touch ups and it works for a very short time within a few months it's back. What surprised me was a dishwasher rack for $55. A bigger surprise was, It's a GE dishwasher rack for $55 !!
