Default 12 yr old GE dryer - how much longer will it last?

I have a GE electric dryer DBLR333ET0WW that I bought in 1996, so it's 12 years old now. It has been running fine since the day we got it, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how long it might last?

We use it for an average of 2 loads per day at a minimum, and I'm actually surprised it's lasted this long. We just got a new Frigidaire Affinity front load washer, one of the new HE models, and I'm trying to decide whether I should go ahead and get the matching dryer while it's available and on sale.

Any guesses?

Hi,

Most appliances average about anywhere between 8-15 years. Your GE dryer is doing great if you've never needed service on it, but like the old saying goes "Nothing Lasts Forever" as the parts in your dryer continue to wear, its only a matter of time before it breaks down.

So it would probably be better to invest in the new matching Frigidaire dryer that goes with your new washer.

You can always keep your GE dryer as a back-up, or sell it here:

or in your local classifieds section of your newspaper.
