I have an OLDER GE Refrigerator (S/S w/Ice-Water in door). I changed out my Inlet Valve (WR57X88), but when I turn on the water, it floods my freezer and the water in the door is constantly flowing BEFORE I plug the refrigerator back into the electrical outlet. The only WAY to stop the flow of water was to turn off the water supply VERY QUICKLY.
Any ideas on what I may have done wrong? I am on a VERY fixed income and am having to replair/replace all parts or whatever I do as cheaply as possible. ANY help (as quickly as possible please) would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi,
Sounds like you received a defective new water inlet valve, I would take it back and get another one, Thats the only thing that stops the water flow to the dispenser and ice maker. Jake

Thanks Jake, that is what I figured the problem was, but, I like to check and double-check. Know what I mean? Anyway, am going to have this valve replaced. Thanks for the verification.
