Default Upper & Lower felt replacement

Am I missing something, why are these parts $40+?? This is the felt that goes around the metal on the front door that the drum rides on. Do you need to replace both the upper & the lower? The issue is the gap at the bottom of the drum. It is catching clothes. I have these in my apartments & they get a lot of use. But by the time I replace the felt, lint trap, teflon dryer glieds & coils, I could almost buy a new one.

Comments?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately, GE has the highest prices in replacement appliance parts, its been that way since the late 80's when they had a massive money loss in their rotary compressor failures.

And GE is now facing about 5 years of bad motherboards on their refrigerators, so the prices will continue to rise till someone buys the appliance division of GE out.

Jake
