PDSR473ET5WW Won't start
When I turn the start dial I hear the usual hum but it won't kick into gear and go. The timer is ticking. The clothes have not been drying as quickly as it use to. Any thoughts?
Thanks;
Todd

I held the door switch in with the drum half loaded and gave the drum a turn with the switch turned to the on position and she went. Is it the motor and is it worth replacing? Could that be the cause of the poor drying performance as well?

Hi Todd,
Please check your model# again, that one didn't show as good.
Yes, its likely your motor thats bad. If your dryer is over 7 or 8 years old, then its not usually worth fixing if you have a large family and use it daily or many times a day.
Yes, it could also cause poor drying if your dryer exhaust vent to the outside of your house is clear.
