Default GE Monogram Self Cleaning Range - self cleaning cycle won't start

I tried to start the cleaning cycle on my GE Monogram range yesterday. I followed the manual exactly. The door locked light comes on but that is all and the door is not locked.

Hi Olive,

Whats the model# of your range? Its located either inside the door or on the very bottom frame in front after you pull your storage drawer out.

Thanks,

This is a model I've never worked on before, and GE doesn't provide any online repair manuals to go by. But usually with most ranges when the oven door light comes on and thats all it does 90% of the time its the door latch/lock assembly switch thats either stuck or went bad.

I'm not able to help you access it, as I haven't repaired any of these models, but usually you access it from under the burners or in the control panel it looks like from the parts diagram here:
#554 is the latch/lock assembly:

You may need to contact GE to come out on this issue it your not able to access it.

Jake
