Default GE Profile Front Load Washer Will Not Dry Clothes

GE Profile Front Looad Washer will not Dry Clothes. Everything Runs okay, but when complete the clothes are still really wet. Seems like the water is not tottally leaving or spin dry cycle is not doing its job. Any solutions would be great?

Hi,

Whats the model# of your washer? Its located either inside the door or on the left or right side cabinet of your washer.

Ok, thats just a partial model#.

Can you get the model# off the washer?

From that model# it looks like its made by Frigidaire for GE.

So do you notice if it goes into high spin speed at the end of the cycle?

These models have been very troublesome with motor controller board issues, bearing issues.

Ok, because if its spinning at the end of the cycle, but not going into the high speed spin, then its usually the speed control board and door latch switch causing it.

Default Model#WPXH214A0WW

Here is the Model # WPXH214A0WW. Wash is relatively new only 3.5 years old. Service tech says Control Speed and TImer. Is this worth fixing and do you think there may be somthing else. Thank you

No, its very rarely the timer.

The most common parts that cause this is the motor speed controller board and the door latch switch.

Here's the motor speed control board for your model:
Manufacturer part#WH12X10154 is RepairClinic item#877728

Here's the door latch assembly for your model:
Manufacturer part#WH10X10003 is RepairClinic item#824420

Any parts you buy from our links here have a full 30 day refund, even if they were installed and didn't fix the problem.

These are very costly, and with all the trouble Frigidaire had with these 2nd generation front-loaders, I'd really consider another brand of washer.

Now the 3rd generation Frigidaire front-loaders sold today have been doing much better, very few repairs.

Default Fix

Do you think it is even worthwhole to try and fix? If not is there a brand or model you reccomend that is worthwhile and durable, but cost effective. It does not have to be a front end loader. Let me know. Thank you - david

If you use it daily or many times a day, then no, its not advisable to put that much money into it.

You can just get a regular top-load washer brand new starting at $399 at Sears, Best Buy, Home Depot, or Lowe's.
